Qasem Ratib Ahmed has enjoyed a broad-based practice spanning diverse areas of law including real estate, construction, litigation, arbitration and corporate and commercial. He has an in-depth knowledge of UAE law generally and UAE real estate law in particular and is a former Head of both our Real Estate and Construction Practice groups in Abu Dhabi.

Originally trained as a Barrister he practised as counsel on the original side of the Bombay High Court, Bombay, India, for almost a decade before coming to the UAE. He was a part-time lecturer at the K. C. Law College in Bombay. Admitted to the Bar in Bombay in 1983 and admitted as a Barrister and Solicitor to the Bar of Ontario, Canada, in 1998.

  • Advised promoters in relation to development of a 330 key luxury hotel and resort in Seychelles.
  • Advised client in relation to development of 150 key luxury hotel (Four Seasons) and resort in Seychelles.
  • Advised developer in respect of development of five plots of land on Reem Island.
  • Advised local pipe manufacturing company in relation to chlorination pipelines and seawater intake project for refinery in Al Ruwais.
  • Advised clients in relation to several high-rise building projects in Abu Dhabi.
  • Advised the Government of Abu Dhabi in respect of prominent projects, including waste management and hospital management contracts.
  • Advised developer relative to the re-development of the Abu Dhabi Central Market.
